Beaten Up By A Girl ?

With little more than a month to go ’till the November Presidential Election, most of the people I talk to are ready to have this election over…like yesterday!

While it’s too early to know for sure, the first post-debate polls suggest Hillary Clinton was the victor in her face off with Donald Trump. Right now, the movement in the polls created by Trump getting “beaten” in last Monday’s debate moderated by NBC anchor Lester Holt, is small; history tells us that unless something significant happens to shift reality, the trend upward for Clinton could be decisive.

According to the professional pundits and the friends and family gathered in my living room to watch the debate live, the GOP nominee was ill-prepared. Donald Trump missed opportunities to knock Clinton off her stride, especially concerning her private email server.

At times, Trump even came off as defensive. In fact, some congressional Republicans said they wished Trump had used a question he got on cybersecurity threats to aggressively attack Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of State.

On the biggest stage of his life, Trump fell flat – and by some accounts failed miserably. He got beaten-up by a “girl” who his supporters have claimed was to “sick” or “weak” to stand up to him for ninety minutes. After the debate, Trump even blamed his microphone and pretending that he “held back” in order to protect the “girl” from embarrassment in front of her family.

I’ve made my love of Hillary Clinton clear. In fact, a CBS News story printed yesterday says minorities overall, are less anxious about the election’s outcome than whites.

Never-the-less, if you score the debate straight, the first debate was a bad night for the Republican nominee. Yep, Donald Trump was beaten-up by a girl – one who appears to be comfortably prepared for the final stretch.
