UPDATE: Mizzou FIRES Melissa Click

Melissa Click, the assistant professor in the Department of Communication (Arts & Sciences) at the University of Missouri who was caught on camera in November trying to restrict media coverage of protests on campus, was formally charged with assault Monday morning.
A spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office said Click was charged with third-degree assault, a class C misdemeanor that carries a possible 15-day jail sentence.

Click resigned her “courtesy appointment” with the Missouri School of Journalism, where she sat on doctoral committees. But she remains an assistant professor in the department of communications and is seeking full tenure at the school.
