Potrero Hill House Fire On Christmas Caused More Than $1.3 Million In Damage

A three-alarm fire that burned at two homes in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood on Christmas Day caused more than $1.3 million in damage and killed two cats, fire officials said on Friday.

The blaze was reported at 6:38 a.m. Thursday at 241 and 243 Mississippi St. and burned for about four hours before being extinguished at 10:39 a.m., according to San Francisco fire officials.
The fire caused the roof to collapse at one of the homes. The structures of the two buildings sustained an estimated $1.15 million in damage and about $210,000 in property was damaged, fire officials said.
No one was injured in the blaze, but two cats were found dead inside one of the homes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, fire officials said.
