Friday, October 17th
So much of what happens on the AM Show is at the mercy of our writers, producers and reporters like me. It is imperative that we (reporters/writers/producers & editors) constantly communicate and inform each other of the best choices for video and newest/latest developments.
Management must effectively communicate their goals to the Executive Producer so they understand what’s expected of them – and and in turn, shape the direction of our broadcast. Changes happen regularly & updates are the norm. The 5am show cannot be a carbon copy of the 4am. News move/evolves – as does the delivery of our information.
I’ve said it before, if viewers are getting up at 4 or 4:30 a.m. it’s probably less likely they saw a late evening newscast, so simply updating stories from the day before may be a bit confusing for early morning viewers – content must be fresh and forward thinking. Today: Eric and Katie are anchoring the show. Matt & Amy are in the field – and I am, once again, covering the Ebola situation in the US.
Friday Morning – AM Show
“It has to come to life!
Bit by bit, putting it together
Piece by piece, only way to make a work of art
Every moment makes a contribution…”
– Streisand “Putting it Together”
